Serve the Nation – Join Indian Air Force after Class 12th

October 8, 1932 was the remarkable day in Indian history, and nothing short of awe-inspiring!  That was the day when the Indian Air Force came into being for protecting the motherland’s blue skies. Interestingly, the IAF motto is taken from one of the several important discourses given by Lord Krishna to the warrior Arjuna during the Great Kurukshetra War. The motto clearly focuses upon the remarkable aerospace power of the air wing of the Indian armed forces that can crush opponents in no time. IAF always invites applications from the eligible candidates who want to make it big in the Indian defense services.

It goes without saying that air force is known the world over as the largest air force responsible for the national security. And it comes as no surprise that aspirants can envision an excellent and prosperous career in the field of Indian Air Force. For those who don’t know much about AIF, it comprises three branches, namely Flying, Technical and Ground Duty. There are plenty of career opportunities available with Air Force which includes both technical and non-technical aspects. For those aspirants who envision this career should have to pass the All India Selection Tests and Recruitment Drives with flying colours.

There are ample job opportunities for graduates of class 12th. They can simply appear for All India Selection Tests being conducted at the selected centers across India. Moreover, the recruitment rallies are being organized every now and then in designated states/union territories across the country. In this article, we have covered a plethora of jobs vacancy announced by Indian Air Force every year for students fresh out of school.

Airmen Group X Trades: All male candidates with science backgrounds (physics and mathematics in 10 +2) are eligible to apply for this post.  Under this job category, technicians are hired for all the technical projects related to aircraft system, ground system, etc.

Airmen Group Y Non-Technical: Working as an airman in the non-technical department is a different experience altogether. An airman plays an important part in carrying out various functions such as weather forecasting and maintaining file records, among other tasks.

Group C Jobs: Group C or better say civilian jobs are as important as other posts in any government organisation. Civilian jobs are classified as 3rd and 4th grade posts which include providing backend services. All those candidates who want to be an integral part of the air force can apply for Civilian jobs. Intermediate and Post Graduate students are eligible to apply for these posts.  The various Group C jobs include stenographer, material assistant, watchman, clerk, tally operator, and gardener among other roles.

Posts Educational Qualifications
Multi-tasking Operations The candidate should be at least 10th pass from a recognised board; however, preference will be given to 12th pass/diploma holder students
Stenographer The candidate should be aged between 18-27 and 12th pass from a recognised board
Lower Division Clerk These candidates can apply: 10th/12th pass and Diploma holders
Carpenter/Cook/Watchman The candidate must be at least 10th pass
Cleaner/Mechanic/Tin Smith The candidate must be at least 12th pass
Supervisor/Fireman If the candidate is 12th pass from a recognised board and is also well-versed in using all types of fire extinguishers and other related appliances, he is eligible for the job. Fluency in Hindi is important. The required age limit is (18-30); relaxation as per norms for reserved category
Peon The candidate must have  passed 10th standard from a recognised board
Chef The candidate must have passed 10th standard from a recognised board and should possess culinary skills
Junior Translator for the Hindi Language The candidate should have completed a master’s degree in English or Hindi from a reputed university
