Interestingly, the IAF motto is taken from one of the several important discourses given by Lord Krishna to the warrior Arjuna during the Great Kurukshetra War. The motto clearly focuses upon the remarkable aerospace power of the air wing of the Indian armed forces that can crush opponents in no time. Airmen Group X Trades: All male candidates with science backgrounds (physics and mathematics in 10 +2) are eligible to apply for this post. Under this job category, technicians are hired for all the technical projects related to aircraft system, ground system, etc.
Airmen Group Y Non-Technical: Working as an airman in the non-technical department is a different experience altogether. An airman plays an important part in carrying out various functions such as weather forecasting and maintaining file records, among other tasks.
Group C Jobs: Group C or better say civilian jobs are as important as other posts in any government organisation. Civilian jobs are classified as 3rd and 4th grade posts which include providing backend services. All those candidates who want to be an integral part of the air force can apply for Civilian jobs. Intermediate and Post Graduate students are eligible to apply for these posts. The various Group C jobs include stenographer, material assistant, watchman, clerk, tally operator, and gardener among other roles.
|Multi-tasking Operations||The candidate should be at least 10th pass from a recognised board; however, preference will be given to 12th pass/diploma holder students|
|Stenographer||The candidate should be aged between 18-27 and 12th pass from a recognised board|
|Lower Division Clerk||These candidates can apply: 10th/12th pass and Diploma holders|
|Carpenter/Cook/Watchman||The candidate must be at least 10th pass|
|Cleaner/Mechanic/Tin Smith||The candidate must be at least 12th pass|
|Supervisor/Fireman||If the candidate is 12th pass from a recognised board and is also well-versed in using all types of fire extinguishers and other related appliances, he is eligible for the job. Fluency in Hindi is important. The required age limit is (18-30); relaxation as per norms for reserved category|
|Peon||The candidate must have passed 10th standard from a recognised board|
|Chef||The candidate must have passed 10th standard from a recognised board and should possess culinary skills|
|Junior Translator for the Hindi Language||The candidate should have completed a master’s degree in English or Hindi from a reputed university|
